7)    Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives. 

(a)     Initiative: Job Fairs

                1.     CUMBERLAND VALLEY CONSORTIUM JOB AND INTERNSHIP FAIR:  The Employment                                          Unit’s Sales Manager and Business Manager, each of whom have substantial responsibility in the                                                    making of hiring decisions, accepted resumes and interviewed candidates at the Cumberland                                                       Valley Consortium Job and Internship Fair held February 11, 2009.  The Cumberland Valley                                                                 Consortium Job and Internship Fair helps students choose and attain personally rewarding careers.

               2.      VERSTANDIG BROADCASTING -OPEN HOUSE : The Employment                                                                                 Unit’s Sales Manager and Programming Staff, each of whom have substantial responsibility in the                                                    making of hiring decisions,  accepted resumes and interviewed candidates at the main office of                                                   VerStandig Broadcasting, located at 10960 John Wayne Drive, Greencastle, Pa. 17225, held on                                                           Monday, March 9, 2009.

(b)   Initiative: Programs Sponsored By Educational Institutions

               1.      CAREER EXPO-GREENCASTLE-ANTRIM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WITH                                                             GREENCASTLE – ANTRIM HIGH SCHOOL: On Tuesday, April 16, 2008, the WBHB-FM                                                       afternoon announcer and a Sales Assistant/Sales Executive provided information to students on                                                                 the education requirements, pay range, and opportunities that exist in radio broadcasting.  The                                                        information provided enabled the 10th and 11th graders from Greencastle High School to                                                                   understand the opportunities that exist in broadcasting and to guide them academically and                                                                professionally in making a more informed decision regarding their future and potential careers in                                                          broadcasting.

(c)   Initiative:  Internship/Job Shadowing

              1.       JOB SHADOWING:  In association with the Boonsboro Middle School, various departments in                                                     the Employment Unit provided students the opportunity to spend a day in the life of someone who                                                              works in broadcasting.  Each student was present at the station on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from                                                        8:00 am until 4:00 pm and was involved in all activities of the Employment Unit.

              2.       INTERNSHIP:  Kaplan College provided two interns from October 14, 2008 till January 2, 2009.                                   They worked closely with the Promotions Department as well as the Sales and Sales Assistant to                                                   learn the skills necessary for a career in broadcasting

(d)   Initiative:  Mentoring Program.

              1.       The Employment Unit offers a mentoring program for our sales assistants, which is designed to                                                       give them the skills and experience to become Sales Representative.  The sales assistants                                                                  participate in all sales meetings and also in all sales training done at the stations.  In addition, once                                                                per week each sales assistant rides with one of our sales representatives in the field in order to gain                                                  additional knowledge and to experience the sales process.
